Welcome February!

Wow, would you look at that; it’s February!
The month of love and hearts and chocolate, pink and purple and red, the shortest month of the year! Sometimes it seems like January will never end, especially when it’s filled with appointments, busyness, and stress. But it has ended, and I am so thankful. And I’m thankful that soon, my little family and I will be taking off into the sky and landing at the happiest place on earth! I’m really looking forward to that. And because I’ve been in the Disney spirit lately, I decided to try my hand at crocheting a Mickey hat for Z. It turned out alright…
The fact that the first hat turned out pretty well prompted me to take a chance and post it on a couple of handmade product Facebook groups I’m in to see if there would be anyone interested in ordering one.  I got an order for three – one baby Mickey, one adult Minnie, and one adult Mickey. A cute little family of hats. 🙂 The Mickeys worked out alright, but for some reason the pattern I was using wasn’t sizing properly for that one size, and I had to take apart most of the hat and redo it three times.  That was frustrating and stressful, as it was during a week full of appointments, and after Z’s shots, so he was pretty clingy as well.  I ended up spending way too much time on those hats, which made it not nearly worth the amount of time I had put into making them.  That was pretty disappointing. They did turn out pretty cute though!

I had hoped to have some nice crafty Valentines decor things to show you today, but that hasn’t happened so far.  This week hasn’t been as slow as I would have liked it to be. There are a bunch of things I’d like to make and share on here. I guess they’ll have to wait for future posts. In the meantime, here are some pictures of two of my boys…

  1. Those hats are adorable Beth! And the pictures are amazing. Great photography! 🙂 Thanks for sharing your journey and I’m glad it’s February and I’m glad you get to go to the happiest place on earth! I trust we get to see pics of that too. 😉
